A steady click for practice, on the Web Audio clock
Free online metronome with a clean visual beat indicator. Set BPM, choose a time signature, and accent the downbeat. Runs on the Web Audio clock, works offline once loaded, no sign-up.
What Is an Online Metronome?
A metronome keeps a steady pulse at a tempo you choose, usually counted in beats per minute. It clicks once per beat so a musician can lock into a groove instead of rushing or dragging. An online metronome does the same job as the physical box on a music stand, but it runs in your browser: you open the page, set the speed, and press start. There is nothing to install, and the tempo slider covers the practical range from a slow 40 to a fast 240 beats per minute.
Practising with a click is one of the highest-leverage habits an instrumentalist can build. It trains internal timing, exposes sloppy transitions, and makes rehearsals tighter when you play with other people. This metronome uses the Web Audio clock, which is tied to the device's audio hardware rather than a loose JavaScript timer, so the clicks stay even at fast tempos where a naive timer would drift.
